Patents
Patents are only granted for technical inventions. They must be new, but the standarts are further not extremely high. In the Netherlands only patents grant protection for the technical aspects for a new product or method. Please click here for further information related to patents.
Plant breeders right
This is the right to exploit a new breed of plants. This right does have much in common with patents but the content may vary by species. A breed may only be sold under the given name, but an eventual trademark is automatically void. The registration procedure involves culturing the breed and is therefore lengthy.
Topographies right
This right relates to the design of chips. It can be regarded as a mixture of patents and copyrights
